Job Description

The Northeast Branch of the YMCA of Greater Louisville is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, Operations Director that will be responsible for the overall quality and value of our two indoor pools and outdoor water park. The Operations Director will manage lifeguards, certifications, chemicals/pump rooms, volunteer/staff development and financial development.

Qualifications

KNOW HOW/REQUIREMENTS:

·    Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate work experience in aquatics and/or recreation preferred

·    Current Lifeguarding Certification, which includes First Aid, CPR professional level, and Emergency

 ·    Oxygen Administration (YMCA Lifeguarding preferred), provided by the YMCA of Greater Louisville

·     Experience working with children and adults

·     Experience supervising and training young adults and adults

·     Strong organizational and communication skills

·      Ability to develop staff

·      Ability to communicate through multiple generations and formats

·      CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification, provided by the YMCA of Greater Louisville

·      YMCA Lifeguard Training certification, provided by the YMCA of Greater Louisville

·      2-4 years of supervising a minimum of 6 person staff team

·      Experience managing a budget preferred

Essential Functions
  •  Develop relationships that have a positive impact in our community
  • Ensures excellent member service and meets Association standard
  • Recruit and hire lifeguards year-round, specific concentration on Calypso Cove Waterpark (May-Sept.)
  • Train and supervise part-time staff of approximately 40-50 lifeguards and one part time Assistant Aquatics Director
  • Perform the required risk management tasks to include safety audits and drills, in-services, staff observations, chemical and pump room operations and general pool maintenance
  • Assist in the management and monitoring of the department budget
  • Maintain records and prepare reports regarding compliance with all state and county regulations
  • Continue to serve the community with growth of Lifeguard, CPR & First Aid program offerings
  • Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign, including volunteer recruitment and development
  • Participates in Association Aquatics cabinet to ensure consistency and quality in their department
  • Actively participate as part of the Northeast leadership team
