Job Description

Under the direction of the Executive Director and in accordance with the Christian mission and purpose of the Great Miami Valley YMCA Association, the Associate Executive Director is responsible for providing secondary leadership for the development of YMCA programs, memberships, volunteers, and staff, collaborative partnerships, and financial development activities conducted through designated location.

Qualifications

Education: A 2-year college degree or applicable experience is required; Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent strongly preferred.

Experience: Three years minimum of supervisory experience demonstrating the ability to recruit, train, motivate, and supervise staff, as well as the ability to work with committees is required.

Experience in membership and program planning and development with proven fundraising and sound fiscal management is required.

Budget development and administration skills are preferred.

3 years of experience in customer service; sales experience strongly preferred.

Must hold a valid driver’s license, insurable drivers record according to the YMCA’s insurance carriers, and have reliable transportation to travel for business meetings, training events, YMCA site visits, vendors, and suppliers, etc.

Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications, along with ability to learn the internal YMCA software.

Essential Functions

Works closely with the Executive Director to plan, design, evaluate, and implement all aspects of the branch strategic plan and operations of the branch and program sites in accordance with YMCA of USA and Association guidelines.

Supervises designated branch directors and team members.

Develops, implements, and monitors annual budgets for designated departments.

Responsible for all aspects of program development, quality, and safety.

Promotes programs by development and distribution of marketing and communication materials in compliance with Association standards.

Plans and implements special events.

Collaborates with community partners to further the YMCA’s programs.

Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates all assigned staff.

Follows all employee hiring procedures and fills staff in accordance with Association guidelines.

Maintains accurate records for the branch location including but not limited to membership function, facility, staff, programs, etc.

Monitors and assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility areas.

Upholds Director on Duty responsibilities and remains visible when on duty.

Works with volunteer committees and actively assists in recruiting, training, and engaging groups of volunteers including but not limited to the Board of Advisors.

Co-leads campaign segments for the Annual Giving Fund.
