Job Description

At the Winston Family YMCA, we are more than just a gym - we are a cause-driven organization dedicated to strengthening the foundations of our community. Located right outside of the urban core of downtown Jacksonville, our Y is committed to fostering a welcoming environment where everyone can learn, grow, and thrive.

Our flagship branch serves nearly 16,000 members and has 500,000 visits per year. The Associate Executive Director for the Winston Family YMCA is accountable for:

·         leading a $6M branch operation to ensure the highest level of customer service and community impact

·         lead a branch that has nearly 140 staff

·         assist in the $340K annual campaign

·         recruits volunteer support at all levels (Board, Program, Community)

·         foster relationships / create partnership opportunities in the downtown Jacksonville area

·         contribute to accomplishing the branch strategic plan.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of six to eight years’ experience managing others preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
  • A proven record of successful leadership in the areas of staff, managing multiple exempt-level leaders with a fiscal responsibility of $3M, volunteer development, budget management, membership development, program planning and innovation.
  • Proven track record of success in the community phase of the Annual Campaign increasing year-over-year annual campaign support.
  • YMCA Multi-Team Leader Certification desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • An elevated level of professionalism is a must.
  • Commitment to character development values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required.
Essential Functions
  • Lead the operation in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast. Meet all standards for licensed and accredited programs.
  • Manage the total operating budget for assigned responsibility, meeting agreed-upon operating net. Create a culture of revenue generation, growth, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Build a dynamic staff team that will include professional development plans for all team members, coaching, recognition, and evaluation resulting in a high performing and cohesive staff team.
  • Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of the branch’s programs including annual business and marketing plan.
  • Ensure that members, parents, and program participants receive the highest quality in program, can communicate any concerns, and resolutions are implemented.
  • Manage physical facilities to provide a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Prioritize capital maintenance to meet facilities long term needs.
  • Through Living Our Cause, promote the YMCA ‘s Mission and serve more individuals and communities.
    Achieve elevated levels of staff, member, and program satisfaction as measured by our survey analytics tools used by the association.
  • Ensure the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Serve as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
