Job Description

The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a dynamic Director of Human Resources to join our HR team. This hands-on leadership role offers the opportunity to drive our Human Resources initiatives, support our talent strategy, and promote an engaging workplace culture.

As the Director of Human Resources, you will oversee key HR functions, including benefits administration, HRIS management, and reporting, while supporting and partnering with organizational leadership. This position offers a hybrid work environment, providing flexibility to work both remotely and in the office.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive HR management experience, preferably in a multi-site, non-profit organization a plus.
  • Experience in benefits administration required. 
  • HRIS management, dashboard, and reporting experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead talent acquisition strategies preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with emotional intelligence and cultural competency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills and HRIS reporting expertise are essential.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations. 
  • Proven ability to lead and execute complex HR projects with a focus on change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • High level of discretion and judgment with sensitive and confidential information.
  • HR certifications such as SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR are a plus.
Essential Functions

HR Operations Leadership:

  • Develop, direct, and lead the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, ensuring alignment with the Association’s mission and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to interpret, develop, and implement HR policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Ensure compliance related to employment status changes, wage and salary administration according to YMCA Compensation Philosophy and Guidelines.
  • Identify and implement cost-effective and time-saving efficiencies within HR operations.

Benefits Administration:

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, wellness initiatives, and assist with retirement plan admin.
  • Ensure compliance with benefits-related regulations and lead efforts to evaluate and enhance offerings in line with employee needs and market trends.
  • Develop and administer effective communication strategies to foster understanding and transparency regarding benefits across all levels of the organization.

HRIS Management and Reporting:

  • Assisting with administration of the organization’s HRIS (Paylocity preferred), including system configuration, data integrity, and reporting functionality.
  • Create, analyze, and present HR dashboards, metrics, and reports to provide actionable insights to leadership.

Talent Acquisition and Retention:

  • Partner with HR team to execute a talent acquisition strategy that attracts, hires, and retains a skilled and diverse workforce.
  • Support onboarding initiatives.
  • Commit to DEI tactics to foster an equitable and inclusive workplace, promoting cultural competence and diversity awareness across all levels of the organization.
