Job Description

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth impacts lives every day. We are a leading non-profit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Senior Program Director of Membership & Wellness takes a leading role in sustaining a member first culture through collaborative teamwork, relationship building with members and participants, and enhanced programming that meets the needs of the community. As a key influencer for positive and effective member service, they direct all membership activities for the Ryan Family YMCA including recruitment of new members, retention of existing members, and supervision of assigned staff to include the full time Program Coordinator. The Senior Program Director is also responsible for the strategic oversight of all wellness programming through coaching and developing the health living team, meeting strategic goals as they relate to wellness, and connecting member feedback to the decisions made in the wellness department.

Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, business or a related field, or equivalent, preferred.

·       Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.

·       Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision

·       of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations,

·       and program development.

·       Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations

·       Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

·       YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred.

·       Supervisory experience in a member/customer service related role required

·       Experience directing youth programming.

·       Superior leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with staff and interact with membership.

·       Must have flexibility in work schedule and expectations to work evenings and some weekends.

·       Excellent organizational, member engagement, staff development, administrative and communication skills

·       CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.

·       Has solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel as well as good administrative skills.

Essential Functions

Champions the needs of members and community with program staff to maintain a member first culture that is communicative, inclusive, and innovative.

Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.  Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.

Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.  Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues.

Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and wellness, and takes appropriate action to correct variances.

Ensures proper implementation of welcome center procedures. Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to staff. Coordinates with the finance office as necessary on monetary transactions.

Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.

Leads assigned aspects of the annual campaign.

Leads ongoing staff trainings and in-services including member service standards, standard operating procedures, safety, and abuse prevention.

Manage daily deposits, review daily cash reconciliation, follow-up on collections of returned drafts/returned checks across all departments and audit petty cash.

Provide oversight for Financial Assistance including but not limited to: intake of applications, committee meetings, as well as administrative tracking of application approval and denials.

OTHER DUTIES

Maintain organizational staff certifications. Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed. 

Responsible for complying with all YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Wroth Policies and Procedures.

Assist with collaborating and building relationships within Branch, Association and community organizations and committee support, in accordance with strategic and operating plans.

Actively participate in trainings, seminars, special events, and meetings as required.

Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.

Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.

Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.

Adheres and incorporates the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility and educates members about the YMCA mission and goals.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Community Executive Director.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

 

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth offers a competitive salary and benefits package for selected candidates. The yearly salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience. The YMCA provides competitive health benefits, a well-rounded wellness program and 403b Retirement fund paid fully at 12% of total salary each year. In addition to medical, dental and vision coverage, plus life and long-term disability insurance, a work-life balance program includes up to 288 hours of vacation & personal time.
