Association Facilities Executive

The YMCA of the Inland Northwest in Spokane, WA is seeking an experienced Facilities Executive to oversee maintenance of all our locations!
Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Association Facilities Executive is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all YMCA facilities, properties, and contract managed locations. The Association Facilities Executive is responsible for directing all Facility, Maintenance, and Custodial needs for the Association and implementing consistency between YMCA branches to further improve member and staff experience.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management or related field preferred
    • May be substituted for an Associate’s degree and at least two years of related work experience
    • May be substituted with at least four years of related work experience
  • Five or more years of experience in facility management, preferably in managing multiple locations and teams of a comparable sized multi-facility operation.
  • Specialized Certifications: Certified Pool Operator, Low Pressure Boiler Operator, Gas Mechanic 1 License, and/or other applicable professional certification.
    • If not currently certified, will be trained and certified upon hire
    • Certified Pool Operator license within first year of employment.
  • Practical experience and strong knowledge in the areas of electrical, boiler, plumbing, carpentry, pools, mechanical, and HVAC systems maintenance, janitorial services, and other maintenance-related standards and areas.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Washington Clean Buildings Act and Energy Efficiency measures strongly desired.
  • Excellent organizational, supervision, budget management, communication, interpersonal, and project management skills
  • Current Driver’s License, driving record that meets YMCA standards, and ability to travel to different work sites
  • Familiarity with digital maintenance controls and computer operations.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
  • Completion of YMCA required trainings upon hire
  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
Essential Functions
  1. Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and evaluates performance of Facility Directors for all YMCA locations.
  2. Leads Facilities Core Service Team meetings to ensure consistency in service across YMCA locations, verifies the chart of work is followed, and provides support and guidance on staff motivation, retention, projects, and program development as needed.
  3. Plans, coordinates, and completes preventative, projected, and requested equipment and facility maintenance at all Y locations.
  4. Works closely with other Y departments to oversee maintenance and cleanliness, support their facility needs and renovations, and ensure a positive experience for all Y members, staff, and guests.
  5. Collaborates with the Vice President of Membership/Operations to develop and manage the Buildings and Custodial Department Budgets and oversees the purchasing of maintenance and custodial supplies.
  6. Assists in developing the annual capital improvement plan for the Association and manages all Capital projects.
  7. Provide building support, staff leadership, and assistance to other YMCA areas including corporate and branch financial development, strategic initiatives, volunteer committees, member relations, and membership development.
  8. Oversees and maintains safety in YMCA facilities by keeping current SDS sheets displayed, providing direction and support for the proper functioning of the branch Safety Committee, and providing safety training to Association staff.
  9. Develops relationships with vendors, contactors, and outside agencies to ensure safety, optimize building systems, and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
  10. Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team to prioritize and maintain member satisfaction and retention by providing exemplary service across the Association.
