The Vice President of Early Learning is responsible for leading the design, implementation, innovation and evaluation of our comprehensive early learning framework, model and curriculum. This role will report to the Chief Youth Development Officer and work closely with a caring and driven childcare leadership team to ensure growth and impact in Early Learning across the region. 
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the early learning landscape as well as regulatory compliance of DHS licensing requirements.  In this growth driven role, you will directly oversee 5 centers across the Mid-South and approximately $4.5 mm+ of revenue with an immediate 18-24 month plan to double the number of open centers and revenue across the region.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in a directly related field.
  2. Five or more years of administrative and management experience in early childhood programs.
  3. Ability to meet DHS Director standards in Tennessee & Mississippi and ability to travel to all centers in these regions.  
  4. Experience with multi-unit operations
  5. Experience in budget development and fiscal management.  Preferred experience with diverse funding streams (federal, state & private pay funding)
  6. Successful track record of supervising large staff teams.
Essential Functions
  • Leadership: Lead & supervise a team of Early Childhood Directors and develop a culture of leadership development to build a pipeline of directors and lead teachers at all locations.  This includes regular site visits and coaching sessions to provide developmental feedback. 
  • Financial Management: Supervise the annual financial operating budgets for designated operations consistent with applicable legal, contractual and funder requirements. Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and ensure successful management of designated units resulting in an annual balanced fiscal operation for the Association. 
  • Quality: Drive quality improvement & scalability by building and sharing best practices, ensuring compliance with DHS requirements, process improvements, systems-level strategies, and replicable protocols that ensure quality, inclusivity and compliance. This also includes the ability to identify the root cause of an issue and recommend and implement solutions.
  • Growth: Drive growth in Early Learning through program expansion, program participant recruitment and retention, staff recruitment, pricing strategies, new site development, fund development initiatives, and collaborations.  
  • Innovation: Champion innovation to ensure new strategic initiatives and new ways of thinking for early learning success are piloted and implemented.
  • Evaluation: Implements and oversees key metrics, program & student evaluation to guarantee faithfulness to YMCA purpose, high quality, and maintenance of YMCA, funder & compliance standards. 
  • Communication & Relationships: Implement multi-faceted communication strategies to ensure relationship building and operational effectiveness with internal and external diverse stakeholders. 
  • Parent Experience: Develop a parent experience pathway to ensure parents easily move from interest to enrollment and from enrolled to advocate.  Includes developing consistent & scalable processes, tools, and evidence-based touch points to ensure high-quality parent involvement and enrollment goals are met.  
  • Project Management: Lead projects or initiatives through multiple stakeholders by ensuring progress, details, and timelines are met to meet outcomes
  • Serve as an interim center leader if required
