The Cumberland Cape Atlantic YMCA is seeking a full-time, 10-month Preschool Teacher to join our program team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a district setting while enjoying the benefits of being part of the Y family. Work during the school year and have summers off! Our staff work through the end of the school year and then return at the end of August. We have four Vineland School District Preschool classrooms here at the Y. Each room has a full time teacher as well as a full time assistant. We have a great collaborative team that is supportive and nurturing and has a passion for working with children.

About the Position:
As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our preschoolers. You will implement the High Scope curriculum, develop engaging lesson plans, and foster positive relationships with children and parents.
Essential Functions:
Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment.
Implement the High Scope curriculum and develop differentiated lesson plans.
Nurture children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Supervise children and maintain a safe and organized classroom.
Conduct ongoing assessments and evaluations of each child's progress.
Build positive relationships with parents and engage them in their child's learning.
Maintain program records and attend staff meetings and training sessions.
Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the best possible learning environment for children.
Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law and must possess a P-3 NJ Teaching certification.
At least 21 years of age.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of
hire date.
A minimum of 2 years previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate
program activities.
Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships
with people from different backgrounds.

Bi-lingual strongly preferred but not required.

Position Summary:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Preschool Teacher provides direction for the children in the classroom, and implements program curriculum. This position also provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.
