Your Role as Senior Executive Director:

As the Senior Executive Director of the Bell Road YMCA, you will be at the heart of a thriving community hub in Montgomery. With an annual budget of $2.6M+ and a dedicated team, you will lead an organization that provides a wide array of programs focused on family fun, wellness, and community enrichment. Your leadership will ensure that the YMCA remains a welcoming and inclusive space where all feel valued, and where we foster a sense of belonging as the “third place” in people’s lives—alongside home and church. From fitness and wellness offerings to family-friendly events, youth sports, and other activities, you’ll create opportunities for individuals and families to come together, stay active, and thrive.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, business, social services or equivalent
  • Five or more years of professional experience in the YMCA or another nonprofit is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of operations, including staff supervision and development, successful membership practices, quality program development and implementation, volunteerism, facility and property management, and sound financial practices.
  • Understanding of the mission and cause of the YMCA and the respective roles of volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community; track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities and achieve organizational objectives
  • YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
  • Experience in Aquatics and Youth Development preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience or more in facility management such as managing a community center, recreational facility, or similar environment, including overseeing daily operations, staff management, and program development.
  • Proven ability to ensure smooth facility operations, meet community needs, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all members.
  • Experience in growing membership and Active Older Adult programs preferred.
Essential Functions
  • Lead with Vision: Develop and execute strategic initiatives to propel our YMCA forward, embracing upcoming expansions and enhancing community engagement.
  • Drive Organizational Success: Implement strategies for membership growth, fundraising, and program expansion, managing $2,6M+ annual budget and working towards an annual campaign goal of $100,000 from 175 donors.
  • Build Strong Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with local businesses, schools, and organizations to expand our impact and integrate our YMCA more deeply into the community.
  • Inspire and Empower: Guide and support a passionate team of staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration, enthusiasm, and growth.
  • Champion Community Programs: Oversee the delivery of diverse programs such as Wellness, Aquatics, Summer Camp, Youth Sports, and Active Older Adults, ensuring they meet community needs and boost member participation.

Required Certifications
  • CPR/First Aid and AED
  • Required within 30 days of employment: Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention training.
