Job Description

Brad Akins YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Assistant to support our sports programs. This role involves assisting the Sports Director and Sports Coordinator with sports leagues, clinics, and recreational activities for youth and adults. The ideal candidate is energetic, responsible, and passionate about sports and community engagement.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends is required.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification required (training provided if not already certified).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of various sports and willingness to learn program guidelines.
  • Ability to lift and carry sports equipment as needed.
Essential Functions
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of sports equipment and facilities.
  • Supervise and engage with participants during practices, games, and events.
  • Ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants.
  • Assist coaches and officials with game-day operations.
  • Scorekeeping and Officiating of youth and adult sports leagues.
  • Enforce facility rules and program policies.
  • Provide basic first aid when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Sports Director or Sports Coordinator.
