Job Description

Under the direction of the Association Director of Talent Development & Training and in accordance with the core values and behaviors of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, the Talent Development & Training Coordinator supports the implementation and administration of training programs to enhance the skills and performance of team members.

This role includes coordinating and facilitating training sessions, administering the Learning Management System (LMS), and supporting the development of training materials. The Coordinator will work alongside the Director to collaborate with various departments to identify training needs, ensure compliance with training standards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the YMCA's talent development initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field Equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a training, administrative or team development role, including experience with training coordination, training facilitation, and LMS administration.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training-related technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to collect, analyze, and present data related to training programs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish positive working relationships.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Knowledge of talent development best practices and familiarity with onboarding processes.
  • Experience in managing training calendars, coordinating logistics, and organizing training materials.

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
  • The team member frequently is required to sit and reach and must be able to move around the work environment.
  • The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Travel as needed.
Essential Functions
  • Coordinate the implementation of training programs, collaborating with trainers and subject matter experts for smooth delivery.
  • Lead the improvement and management of new hire onboarding, partnering with the Director to ensure a consistent process.
  • Manage and schedule training sessions, workshops, and events, handling logistics and maintaining the training calendar.
  • Collaborate with leaders to design and implement staff recognition and award programs.
  • Communicate and promote development opportunities via newsletters and internal platforms.
  • Facilitate engaging training and coaching sessions, supporting the development and administration of the coaching program.
  • Serve as the primary contact for training inquiries, providing updates to participants and stakeholders.
  • Administer the LMS, managing accounts, troubleshooting issues, and supporting future system enhancements.
  • Support the design and management of the internship program, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, and tracking success.
  • Develop and update training materials, analyze feedback, and maintain accurate training records.
  • Track training-related expenses, manage the training budget, and ensure cost-effective resource use.
  • Participate in professional development to stay current with industry trends and support the growth of team members.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by leadership.
