YMCA Barracudas in Winder, GA has an immediate opening for a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Site Coach. This is a great opportunity to provide fun, safe swimming sessions appropriate to the ages and abilities of children age 7 years and up. This position will be planning and delivering swimming practices, encouraging improvement within the various ages and ability levels, and maintaining the highest safety standard at all times.
The ideal candidates must be dependable and committed, have a passion for high quality work, have coaching experience and be willing to work within our innovative coaching philosophy.
This is a part time position consisting of approximately 15 - 20 hours per week plus additional hours for swim meets.
Ability to effectively communicate
3 - 5 + years of coaching experience with various ages preferred
USA Swimming Coaching Certifications in good standing
Applicant must have excellent teaching skills with expert knowledge of training and stroke development
Exemplify YMCA ideals, leadership qualities and a professional image
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
YMCA Swim Instructor Certification and/or YMCA Lifeguard Certification preferred
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, drug screen and motor vehicle record
Within 30 days of hire, Child Abuse Prevention, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility
Under the guidance of the Head Coach the Lead Site Coach is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Competitive Swimming Program following the YMCA Philosophy, Aquatic Guidelines, and the YMCA Competitive Sports Guidelines
Coaching athletes ranging from developmental swimmers through advanced Senior swimmers.
The Lead Site Coach will be helping to implement instruction to swimmers throughout the swim season and during swim clinics.
Support the YMCA vision to strengthen the foundations of the community through programs for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility
Able to teach all groups by facilitating a training and/or practice plan as developed by the Head Coach
Help in evaluating swim team members individual goals; provide individual and team feedback for improvement and recognition
Support volunteer recruitment, parent and swimmer communication, and provide input on team roster and meet lineups
Supports community involvement, fundraising efforts and events
Maintains records of achievements, progress reports, skill development
Attend meetings as scheduled
Represents the YMCA at meets, various community events, and meetings
Responsible for the safety of all participants at all times
Maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures; report incidents events in a complete and timely manner
Promote the team philosophy and foster a positive and friendly practice environment for athletes in the water consistent with the YMCA Mission
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
