How you Will Power our Purpose (Job Summary)
As a Health & Wellness Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the staff is successful in delivering a high-quality program and class experience to all members by coaching and providing ongoing training. You will manage, develop, and implement strategies to successfully meet department targets with regard to revenue generation as well as promote health and wellness benefits.
What You Bring to the Community Enterprise
-A bachelor's degree or a blend of education, professional experience, and training.
-Five or more years of direct experience managing staff, a minimum of 3 years in the fitness industry.
-Current nationally accredited personal training certification (ACSM, NASM, MSCA, ACE).
-Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
-Ability to apply knowledge of accounting and finance basics.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the staff member must be able to sustain long periods of active work. Ability to conduct one-on-one training, small or large group classes and activities that last up to an hour or so in duration. Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including sitting, talking, typing on a computer, leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting weights or objects of 50-75lbs. safely. (i.e., weights, some light machinery within the fitness center, etc.). Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

-Responsible for hiring, coaching, and managing all direct reports and ensuring alignment with association people practices for all positions within their organizational structure.
-Responsible for successful Strategic Plan metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to meet strategic goals and objectives.
-Implements a goal-based leadership approach (OKR methodology) and ensures the development department is actively working towards supporting organizational level objectives and key results. Conducts Cycle Check-ins and the Annual Check-In with direct reports to ensure progress with OKRs, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and discuss development opportunities
-Verify that all fitness personnel possess appropriate certifications and maintain up-to-date certification records.
-Supervise timely communication between staff and participants.
-Manage personal training and group sessions for members.
-Develop and execute comprehensive health and wellness programs, focusing on goals such as member retention, program improvement, membership expansion, and revenue growth.
-Innovate and implement creative initiatives to enhance member relations and retention rates.
-Analyze feedback from members, programs, and instructors to continually improve offerings.
-Coordinate program registration and participant engagement efforts.
-Keep up with current training methodologies and wellness trends.
-Conduct regular program audits to ensure adherence to high customer service standards and provide constructive feedback.
-Oversee administrative tasks to maintain operational efficiency.
-Address member and community inquiries and grievances promptly, courteously, and professionally.
-Oversees the fitness budget to achieve monthly revenue targets through the development and execution of strategies aimed at surpassing program participation goals.
-Manages the scheduling of fitness staff hours entails organizing work shifts, assigning schedules based on staff availability and facility needs, and ensuring smooth operations by adjusting staffing as necessary.
-Assist the Executive team in developing strong relationships with donors and co-lead the internal portion of the Annual Campaign fundraiser.
-Build personal and meaningful relationships with the wider community to advance the Y Mission
-Cultivate collaboration with other mission-based organizations.
-Represent the Y vision and voice in the wider community.
-Implement association strategies for promotions and initiatives designed to grow membership.
-Complete all duties as assigned.
