Senior Health and Wellbeing Director

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Senior Health and Wellbeing Director to join our team.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. 

As a Senior Health and Wellbeing Director you will be responsible for providing an impactful member experience by developing and maintaining Health and Well-being operations, including group fitness, active older adult, fitness floor, and adult programming. You will be responsible for fiscal management, department program development, planning and evaluation, staff and volunteer development, and delivery of a positive member experience.

Compensation: $67,724.800 to $69,724.80 per year, depending on qualifications

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week 

Location: Gordon Family YMCA, Sumner, WA

Qualifications
  • Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or three to four years of related knowledge and experience that includes supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development (preferred).
  • One to two years’ experience working with budgets and computers (preferred).
  • Knowledge of current adult safety and program standards and the ability to incorporate those into programs.
  • Proven supervisory/management skills.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification (preferred).
  • YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent, CPR for the Professional, AED First Aid, and Oxygen certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days (trainings offered).
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act)
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
Essential Functions
  • Articulate the benefits of a YMCA membership through guided tours of the facility; guided tour training for staff; tour tracking; follow-up; and exit interviews.
  • Track, analyze, and provide useful information and action plans from membership statistics and oversee all functions of the membership database.
  • Keep staff up-to-date on pertinent information, YMCA policies, and procedures.
  • Identify and develop small groups and activities that facilitate member relationships.
  • Develop, implement, and manage operating plans to promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA.
  • Execute strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
  • Ensure high-quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, evaluations, and ongoing training of staff.
  • Respond to incidents, accidents, and behavior concerns.
  • Provide staff and lifeguard breaks as required.
