The La Central YMCA is seeking a Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator who will provide support to the Healthy Lifestyles department by delivering consistent, quality healthy lifestyle programming and enhancing customer service and member retention. The Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator will be responsible for the following programs/areas:

  • Fitness Center and Equipment
  • Personal Training
  • Group Exercise
  • Y Fit Start

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required. College coursework preferred.
  • Current adult CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Knowledge of Orientation to Healthy Living at the Y.
  • Foundations of Listen First.
  • Knowledge of principles of Member Health & Wellness.
  • Foundations of Strength and Conditioning, and Group Exercise.
  • Applicable industry certifications.
  • Must attend the YMCA hospitality training within 90 days of hire.
Essential Functions
  • Assist in recruiting, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating program staff.
  • Provide outstanding hospitality to all members and guests. Outstanding hospitality means acting as a proactive agent by initiating a professional relationship with the members regarding their needs, concerns, and questions and acting as an agent to accommodate the member’s needs/concerns. 
  • Provide members with opportunities that will increase their involvement, sense of belonging, and ownership of the YMCA.
  • Maintain required certifications, which are tracked in Club Connect. 
  • Actively participate in training sessions and designated meetings.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of branch emergency procedures and take appropriate action in emergency situations. 
  • Support community and promotional special events as needed.
  • Assist with managing programs to maximize member satisfaction, revenue, and compliance with the YMCA standards.
  • Assist in the development, control and tracking of departmental budgets in accordance with branch and Association guidelines. 
  • Research, facilitate, and build quality programs that provide member satisfaction.
  • Set annual priority objectives to improve service based on annual staff and customer evaluation/feedback.
  • Serve as a point of contact for all Healthy Lifestyles staff.
  • Track and ensure that staff certifications are current and on file.
  • Assist in scheduling, maintaining, and managing facility and equipment in partnership with the branch’s maintenance department.
  • Execute administrative duties, i.e., tracking, reports, schedules, equipment, supplies, and payroll.
  • Serve as a branch Manager On Duty (MOD), as assigned.
