The Regional Director is responsible for overseeing the performance and development of a regional team, managing the region's P&L, driving strategic priorities, ensuring consistent and exceptional customer experience, and optimizing resource allocation across the region. This senior leadership role requires strategic vision, operational excellence, and a commitment to the YMCA’s mission and values. Success is measured by regional financial performance, customer satisfaction, and community impact.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field, or
equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 12 years of senior leadership experience in a YMCA, nonprofit, or equivalent setting.
• Proven success leading multi-unit operations and managing senior leaders.
• Strong operational and financial management skills, including budgeting, P&L oversight,
fundraising, and revenue growth.
• Strategic thinker with experience translating organizational goals into effective execution.
• Skilled in program development, community engagement, and building impactful partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to develop high-performing teams and foster a culture of accountability and
collaboration.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Strong emotional intelligence and adaptability, with a passion for service-driven, customer focused
leadership.
• Deep understanding of YMCA programs, policies, and values.
• Expertise in process optimization, compliance, and effective resource allocation.
All YMCA team members are expected to maintain a current and active status for all safety, risk, and
programming certifications defined by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.

• Master’s degree preferred.
Working Conditions
• Frequent interaction with staff, members, and community stakeholders in a fast-paced
environment.
• Ability to travel within the region for meetings, site visits, and community events.
• Evening and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
• Physical ability to move throughout YMCA facilities and participate in various programs or events as needed.
• Regional Leadership & Accountability: Inspire a culture of collaboration, performance,
excellence, and community engagement for multiple YMCA centers within the assigned region. Provide strategic oversight and performance management, ensuring alignment with association wide strategic plan and goals.
• Mentorship & Executive Development: Serve as a mentor and advisor to Executive Directors
and regional team within the region, driving leadership development, operational consistency, and best practices.
• Operational & Financial Excellence: Monitor and support financial health, drive revenue growth
and manage expenses to meet financial targets and ensure adherence to operational policies,
procedures, and standards across the region.
• Association-Wide Initiative Execution: Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives, and
organizational priorities across all centers in the region, ensuring consistency and impact.
• Customer Experience Consistency: Ensure a unified and high-quality customer experience
across all regional centers. Implement best practices and standards for customer engagement
and satisfaction and monitor and analyze customer feedback, implementing improvements as
needed.
• Collaboration & Communication: Act as the key liaison between regional centers, senior
leadership, and association leadership, ensuring seamless communication and accountability.
• Community Engagement & Fundraising: Represent the YMCA at regional events and with
community organizations. Support Executive Directors in building relationships with stakeholders and driving fundraising efforts and collaborate with advisory boards and community leaders to advance the YMCA's mission.
• Crisis & Risk Management Oversight: Ensure that risk management, safety, and compliance
policies are effectively implemented and maintained across all centers in the region.
• Cross-Center Innovation & Growth: Serve as a role model and mentor to leaders, fostering
professional growth and development. Assess staffing needs and support talent acquisition,
development, and retention strategies. Promote shared services and collaboration between
centers to optimize resource use and identify opportunities for program expansion, operational efficiencies, and revenue growth across multiple locations.
• Regional Performance Analysis & Reporting: Regularly assess key performance indicators,
provide executive-level reports, and make data-driven recommendations to improve overall
regional success.
