We are looking for fun, creative, and engaging individuals to join our camp family for the Summer of 2025. Under the supervision of the Camp Director, Camp Counselors are responsible for supervising and leading a group of 10-20 campers through a high-quality day camp experience with their peers while identifying and meeting camper needs and maintaining YMCA day camp standards and DPH standards.
Location: Camp Lowe, 132 Fort Pond Inn Road, Lancaster MA 01523
Shift: Mondays-Fridays from 8:00am-4:30pm
Job Type: Summer Seasonal/Temporary; Camp runs from June 30th, 2025 to August 29th, 2025
**Association Wide All Camp Staff Training on Saturday, June 7th (Location-TBD)
**Pre-Camp training is required--dates TBD
Pay: $16.00 per hour for new hires and $16.50 for 1 year returning Camp Counselors, $17.00 for 2+ years returning Camp Counselors. Plus, access to YMCA facilities and Employee Assistance Program for all YMCA of Central Massachusetts employees.

- Counselors are responsible for the safety, direct supervision, and programming for an assigned group of campers.
- At all times, display: Enthusiasm, acceptance, sensitivity, patience, and self-control.
- Plan and implement daily group activities.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment for all campers.
- Help plan camp-wide activities.
- Assist other camping staff when needed.
- Attend all staff trainings, meetings, and Family Nights.
- Encourage individual growth through guidance of campers.
- Maintain equipment and property.
- Keep grounds of camp free from litter.
- Bring to the attention of the camp director any disciplinary issues or dangerous situations.
- Abide by all rules, policies, and procedures established by the Montachusett YMCA in the Staff Handbook and elsewhere as directed by YMCA Administration, including internet / cell phone policy.
- Always represent Camp Lowe in a positive and professional manner.
- Represent the YMCA and the community both on and off the clock.
- Set Face-Book, Twitter, Tumbler accounts etc., to Private and refrain from having any internet communication with program participants / staff under the age of 18.
- Developing Self & others: Develops seld and supports others (e.g., staff, volunteers, members, program participants), both formally and informally, to achieve their highest potential.
