The Association Director, Marketing - Membership and Wellness is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives to support YMCA membership growth, wellness programs, and build community. This role ensures the alignment of marketing efforts with organizational goals, fosters collaboration across departments, and enhances the YMCA’s brand presence in the community. The director works with a team of marketing professionals to deliver impactful marketing strategies and tactics that promote membership, wellness programs, and community well-being.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in marketing, membership or wellness program experience a
plus.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and guiding staff.
• Strong knowledge of digital marketing, analytics, and social media platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and external
partners.
• Ability to develop data-driven marketing strategies and evaluate campaign performance.
• Experience managing budgets and ensuring cost-effective marketing initiatives.
• Familiarity with YMCA programs and branding standards is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to build community relationships and partnerships.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
All YMCA team members are expected to maintain a current and active status for all safety, risk, and programming certifications defined by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
Working Conditions
• Regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate
using a computer and phone/smart device.
• This is an in-office position, candidates must be willing to commit to five days in office/week.
• Frequently required to sit and reach and must be able to move around the work environment.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to
adjust.

Strategic Leadership
• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to drive membership growth and retention, promote wellness programs and build community, ensuring alignment with YMCA brand
• Monitor market trends, member needs, and competitive insights to adjust strategies and maintain relevance.
• Translate member insights into relevant programs and experiences to attract new
members and deepen connections of current members.
Team Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and work with a team of marketing professionals, fostering a high performing and collaborative environment.
• Provide training and support to staff on marketing best practices, tools, and YMCA
branding standards.
Program Development and Management
• Oversee the creation and implementation of marketing campaigns for membership drives, retention strategies, wellness programs, and community initiatives in line with business line objectives
• Collaborate with program leaders to ensure marketing strategies effectively support program enrollment and engagement.
Community Engagement and Collaborations
• Build relationships with community organizations and corporate partners to enhance marketing efforts and grow awareness of YMCA programs.
• Represent the YMCA at community events and outreach initiatives to promote programs and increase engagement.
• Collaborate with the SVP to integrate insights from target audiences into the annual business line plan, recommending effective marketing strategies and tactics to drive revenue and profit growth.
Operational Excellence
• Manage the annual marketing budget and plan for membership and wellness initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Analyze performance metrics for all aspects of the marketing mix, providing actionable insights to improve marketing outcomes and ROI.
