Network Administrator

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Network Administrator to join our team.

As the Network Administrator you will be responsible for the operating health, maintenance, and timely recovery of the network, data systems, voice systems, and software applications for all locations of the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties. If hired for this position, you will design, implement, and maintain an environment that meets service level requirements and security standards for public and private network presence. You will also serve as technical lead for all hardware and software support, participate in all IT projects, change management, and policy and procedure review and revisions.

Compensation: $115,000.00 to 125,000.00 per year, depending on qualifications

Position type: Full-Time, Exempt position. This is a hybrid position.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM, with additional coverage required on an as needed basis

Qualifications

Associate degree or higher in Information Technology or equivalent or a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a network administrator or engineer.

You should possess a minimum of seven years of experience providing configuration and troubleshooting support with enterprise firewalls, switches, and routers.

Ability to configure network devices via CLI tools.

Familiarity with SD-WAN and MPLS infrastructure.

Working knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls, HPE/Aruba switches, Cisco switches/routers, and Extreme Wireless access points is a plus.

Positive attitude, with the ability to work with others within the IT Department and across the organization.

Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).

Essential Functions

Installing, configuring, and managing network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls.

Continuously monitoring network performance, identifying and resolving issues related to connectivity, bandwidth, and network latency.

Evaluating and implementing new network technologies, software updates, and hardware upgrades to maintain optimal performance.

Implementing and maintaining network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.

Maintain detailed network documentation, including network topology and configuration details.

Ensure effective and efficient operation of the network and related infrastructure to support business demands to include oversight of system-wide network capacity planning.

Provide direction and assist in problem-solving with local and remote IT staff who support the technology environment.

Interface with vendors and building contractors to facilitate network implementations at new/existing locations.

Maintain relationships with service providers to ensure up-time of network, cable TV, and phone systems both analog and IP.

Assist other IT team members on an as needed basis.

Perform other duties as assigned.
