Under the direction of the Senior Executive Director, the Associate Branch Executive Director plays a pivotal role in administering the facility and operational functions of the YMCA Branch. In the absence of the Branch Executive Director, this position assumes responsibility for branch leadership, ensuring the successful achievement of both association and branch strategic goals.

This role is essential in fostering a progressive, goal-oriented environment focused on innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence. The Associate Branch Executive Director leads the branch’s strategic initiatives, ensuring that innovative programming, member engagement, and community involvement remain at the forefront. Additionally, the role emphasizes mentorship and staff development, promoting a high-performing, diverse team culture.

Qualifications
  • Progressive, goal-oriented leader focused on innovation and developing a high-performing, cohesive team
  • Experience managing multiple departments and overseeing both full and part-time staff
  • Strong fundraising and volunteer development experience, successfully securing financial support
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, health sciences, community development, sports management, or business required
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of YMCA management experience managing multiple departments
  • At least 5-7 years of fundraising and volunteer development experience, with a proven track record in securing financial support
  • Strong skills in program development, financial management, facility management, and staff/volunteer coaching
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills with a dedication to service excellence and hospitality
Essential Functions
  • Acts as the Branch Executive Director in the absence of the Senior Executive Director, handling approvals, emergency decisions, and urgent matters
  • Leads strategic activities to meet the goals outlined in the Association’s strategic plan
  • Facilitates member involvement and relationship-building strategies, increasing program participation, enrollment, and volunteerism
  • Develops and grows high-quality, innovative programming to meet the needs of members and the community
  • Solicits financial support and directs staff efforts during the annual Reach Out for Youth and Families campaign
  • Assists Program Directors and Coordinators in managing branch budgets, ensuring financial goals are met
  • Provides comprehensive training for staff, focusing on professional growth and staff development
  • Collaborates with Membership and Wellness Departments to implement strategies for member retention and engagement
  • Interprets and communicates the Y’s objectives and programs to the community
