Position Overview:
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of a dynamic girls' camp. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee daily maintenance and repairs to our buildings and grounds, ensuring that the camp remains secure, beautiful, and ready for the campers and staff who rely on it. This position may also involve assisting with the maintenance needs at our boys' camp at Torch Lake. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understands the specific needs of a girls’ camp, and can lead a team to maintain a safe and collaborative environment across both camp locations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance or related fields preferred.
- Strong technical skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation (tractors, excavators, skid steers, etc.).
- Knowledge of septic systems and mechanical repairs.
- Previous experience in maintenance supervision, ideally in a camp, hospitality, or facilities management setting.
- Ability to read and interpret construction prints and schematics.
- Clean driving record; Class B CDL preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work both indoors and outdoors.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.
- Oversee daily maintenance of all camp facilities, including cabins, dining halls, restrooms, and activity areas, ensuring they are in top condition for our girls’ camp.
- Maintain camp grounds, landscaping, and trails, focusing on creating a safe, nurturing outdoor environment for campers.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, utilities, and infrastructure to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all maintenance complies with health and safety regulations.
- Supervise and train seasonal maintenance staff, fostering teamwork and encouraging a supportive, safe atmosphere.
- Manage the maintenance budget, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities to maintain our high standards.
- Support the hospitality and guest services teams, helping to deliver an exceptional experience for visitors.
- Lead and manage janitorial supplies and housekeeping duties when necessary to ensure a clean and welcoming environment.
- Occasionally assist with maintenance needs at the boys' camp at Torch Lake, contributing to the overall upkeep of both camp locations.
