The YMCA of Greater New York Association Offices is seeking an Employee Relations & Compliance Specialist who will interact with managers and staff across the Association regarding policy and compliance clarifications on various association policies, ensuring all actions are within internal guidelines and compliant with NYC, State, and Federal law. The specialist must have previous experience in a Human Resources Department. Concentration in Employee Relations preferred.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years directly working in a Human Resources Department role.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Previous experience in a Human Resources Department.
  • Minimum of three (3) in-person days per week; Wednesday is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Sterling One/Sterling Direct database. 
  • Previous Employee Relations experience preferred.
Essential Functions
  • Serve as a resource to managers and all staff on Employee Relations processes, policies, and best practices to ensure proper implementation.
  • Partner with leaders to handle employee relations issues, including performance concerns, disciplinary issues, and conflict management issues while promoting staff engagement and positive work culture.
  • Manage Employee Relations and Compliance templates.
  • Responsible for tracking all Employee Relations issues.
  • Manage exit interviews, summarize findings, and discuss trends and concerns with senior management.
  • Serve as backup to the Talent Acquisition department for the pre-employment/volunteer screening.
  • Provide administrative support to the SVP, Human Resources, and Senior Executive of Employee Relations & Talent Acquisition for various projects/tasks/administrative support.
  • Minimum of three (3) in-person days per week; Wednesday is mandatory.
