Job Description
The Executive Director of Youth Sports & Resident Camp oversees both Youth Sports and Resident Camp programming and operations for our association reporting up to the VP & Chief Youth Development Operations Officer. This role will be responsible for strategic and daily operations of the branch, membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relationships, and collaborations with community agencies that achieve the goals of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA and the branch. All activities are done to further the YMCA Mission.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five or more year’s management experience, preferably in the YMCA and/or not-for-profit sector.
- Ability to oversee the leadership of multiple branches, ensuring successful overall operations through volunteer program development, staff supervision, budget management and monitoring, program development, and, in collaboration with Association Services, marketing and public relations efforts.
- Proven fundraising experience, including experience in management and development of policy and fundraising volunteers; ability to recruit community leaders.
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationship with others and establishing and maintaining collaborations with community organizations.
Essential Functions
- Develops and directs high quality member and participant engagement strategies which support branch and association strategic goals. Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives and the leadership team. Success will be determined in part by member and program experience survey scores and with progress towards reaching strategic plan goals.
- Create an environment that fosters the safety of members, participants and staff through supervision and by role modeling and monitoring safe behaviors.
- Oversees that recruitment, hiring and onboarding of new staff. Ensure employees possess the appropriate competencies and abilities as required by the position and job description. Support staff professional development including attending meetings and completing required trainings.
- Directs fund development activities for the Youth Sports & Resident Camp Program in partnership with the association Fund Development team with an emphasis on major gifts.
- Represents and promotes that YMCA in the community. Create new and support existing community collaborations and relationships with other community agencies, organizations and governmental entities.
- Manages the budgeting process so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives. Ensures operating budgets and unit/participant growth meet or exceed targets based on 5-year budget plan.
- Recruits, selects, develops and maintains a diverse volunteers for the Branch Advisory Committee that actively support the Y’s goals and strategic plans. Clarifies and reinforces the division of roles and responsibilities between corporate boards, management or advisory boards, staff, and general volunteers.
