The Milwaukee YMCA is seeking a new Director Education and Conferences for our resident camp location, Camp Minikani.

Qualifications
- Must possess a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education/experience, with a minimum of 2-4 years of proven success in a camp or adventure education setting.
- Should have a positive history of leadership in the areas of staff development, relationship building and program management.
- The proven ability to establish and maintain favorable relationships with people of diverse backgrounds required.
- Lifeguard and Challenge Course Manager certifications, or ability to gain certification, required
- Camp Brain experience a plus
Essential Functions
- Take personal accountability for the daily care of students, teachers and group members is priority by personally engaging and building a network of relationships with teachers, students, parents, community members and group participants.
- Deliver, and assist in the development of, high quality adventure challenge (high ropes course, zip line and climbing wall) and environmental education curriculum. This includes working with group leaders prior to arrival, throughout their stay and completing any follow up required.
- Hire, supervise and motivate a team that meets the established outcomes of successful relationship building and ensure that they are providing high quality service and programs.
- School year duties to include:
- Utilize survey tools and resources to report measurable outcomes along with stories of impact.
- Serve as a connector to the YMCA program staff in the centers by communicating camp offerings and looking for ways to connect and partner with staff and members.
- In conjunction with the Minikani Engagement Director, find and deliver any other engagement opportunities that are presented during the off-season including but not limited to school age, cookie house, pancake breakfast, spring break camp, family camps, summer assistance etc.
- Work within budgeted guidelines for revenue and expense and ensure appropriate enrollments to meet revenue goals.
- Manage a schedule that requires very different focuses and skills dependent on the time of year; schedule may require long, hands-on hours during the school season on camp.
- Oversight of all technical aspects of high ropes course and climbing wall operations.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
