The Branch Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations and programs of the Somerville/Bridgewater YMCA branch, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities and equipment’s ,risk management, fiscal management, volunteers, staff development, social responsibility initiatives, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.
1. Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
2. Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
3. Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
4. Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
6. Ability to build and sustain trust with staff, volunteers, volunteer boards and community partnerships
7. Proven ability to influence stakeholders
8. Proven ability to collaborate and work toward Strategic Goals
9. Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
10. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
11. YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
12. CPR and First Aid certifications required.
· Serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and supports the overall objectives of Greater Somerset County YMCA.
· Coordinates the development of the Somerville/Bridgewater board and committees. Directs the volunteer activities, policy and program of the branch
· Directs all financial development activities. Leads all aspects of the branch annual campaign and meets or exceeds goal. Provides staff support for campaign committees.
· Represents and promotes the YMCA in the Somerville and Bridgewater Branch local communities. Focus on developing positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
· Recruits, hires, trains, develops and directs branch employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
· Develops, manages, and monitors the branch and service area operating budgets and meets or exceeds budget targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.
· Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch and service area.
· Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and service area mission, goals, and strategies
· Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
· Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
· Ensures the safety and coordinates the cleanliness and maintenance of branch facilities and properties in partnership with association leadership and branch facilities staff to assure high standards of maintenance, safety and cleanliness.
· Coordinates all branch and service area communication efforts with Marketing to effectively maintain contact on service delivery items to the community.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
