YMCA Camp Kresge is located in White Haven, PA in the Pocono Mountains. Offering year-round programs with a focus on Summer Day & Overnight Camp. Our facility features updated cabins, a variety of activities, and a lively aquatic program on our private lake.
The Ropes Course Director will oversee the daily management of the climbing tower, zip line, and high & low ropes courses. This role will enforce safety standards to ensure a fun, safe experience for all participants. Preferred season of May through August, with flexible dates for the right candidate.

Minimum 21 years of age

Minimum 2 years or more of camp or high ropes experience

Experience supervising staff and working with youth

Experience or certification in Ropes Course programming

Emotionally mature, of good moral character, willing to work under supervision

Good communication and organizational skills

Willing to work and live in a community atmosphere
General Responsibilities:

Supervise daily operations of daily rental group program (visiting Day Camps)
-
Supervise daily operations of the Ropes Course programs
-
Provide leadership and guidance for ropes course staff and rental groups
-
Develop a diverse set of age-appropriate progressive programming and lesson plans
-
Develop programs that are fun, exciting, and safe for all participants
-
Educate staff to teach programs and procedures, evaluate staff that teach program
-
Supervise and operate the Ropes Course within camp’s guidelines and objectives outlined in the Ropes Course Program Manuals and PA Ride Operator’s Manual
Specific Responsibilities:

Coordinate and document daily inspections of High Ropes, Low Ropes, Tower and Zip Line

Lead & document in-house ropes course training to staff during staff training

Conduct and document in-service rescue training during the summer camp season

Maintain accurate, up to date records for Ropes Staff, Ropes Courses and PA Rides

Facilitate rental group schedules and supervise staff working with group

Inform the Camp & Conference Director of equipment needed and concerns involving the courses in a timely fashion to ensure the program has what it needs to run smoothly.

Perform routine maintenance on program equipment and course
Other Responsibilities:

Offer enthusiasm for camp life and program

Assist with staff training at the beginning of the summer season

Evaluate camp program and provide input to the leadership staff

Abide by mandatory reporting policy, as described in staff manual

Other duties as assigned by the Overnight Camp Director or Sr. Director
