Qualifications
  • The candidate should complete YMCA Principles and Practices within 2 years of hire.
  • CPR /PR- Red Cross or American Heart Assn.
  • Lifeguarding - YMCA or Red Cross
  • Lifeguard Instructor
  • YMCA- YSI, and/or Red Cross WSI
Essential Functions

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Assumes direct responsibility for membership development, satisfaction and retention
  • Contributes to providing a safe and member-friendly environment throughout the YMCA
  • Develops and maintains the department’s operational budget.
  • Provides leadership to all relevant committees.
  • Recruits trains and supervises volunteers and staff in the delivery of membership services and programs
  • Always assumes direct responsibility for the facility and activities within.
  • Maintain accurate records as needed for the purpose of program planning, evaluation, and budget development are kept (i.e. payroll, attendance etc.)
  • Lend direct supervision to the maintenance of the pool operating systems and share in the general upkeep, appearance, and ongoing operation of the aquatic facilities.
  • Participate in a leadership capacity in all staff meetings
  • Assume other responsibilities as needed in order to maintain and enhance the delivery of service of the Findlay YMCA
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors and other staff

Specific Program Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for developing and administering the YMCA Developmental Swimming Program, YMCA adult and youth competitive programs, and family and special populations programs, meeting all required safety and performance standards required by regulating agencies and the National YMCA office.
  • Responsible for staffing and scheduling of all aquatic-related programs and activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other community agencies to bring aquatic programs to the community wherever possible.
  • Enrich and expand current programming by developing and implementing new and innovative aquatic program opportunities.
  • Assist as needed in community events that require YMCA leadership and serve to enhance YMCA membership and retention.
  • Makes use of YMCA resources to build a strong youth /adult program agenda that addresses the needs of our community and compliments current program efforts.
