Qualifications

1.  Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.

2.  Experience with any HRIS system, ideally ADP Workforce Now (payroll, applicant tracking, onboarding) preferred.

3.  High level of proficiency with MS Excel.

4.  Exceptional organizational / time management abilities with superior attention to detail.

5.  Ability to understand end user needs and to design and develop solutions to meet those needs; customer focused.

Essential Functions

1.    Assist HR with the onboarding of new and returning employees.  Extra help/focus during camp season.

2.    May assist in administrative and personnel file compliance, including, I-9, self-identification forms, reference consent and background release forms. Prepares all required documentation for new hires and established personnel file and keeps files up to date.  Helps to track certifications and send out alerts when expiring.

3.    May assist in performing CORI/background checks on new hires/current employees as required.

4.    Active support of our DEIB statement and putting into practice our commitment to equity, diversity, belonging and inclusion.  Continue to research, create, recommend and implement strategies to support diversity goals of the organization. 

5.    May assist with the input of new employees (ADP Workforce Now) database and generate reports as requested. Periodically audits the database to ensure accuracy and keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in a timely manner. 

6.    Assists with adding and terming employees as staff in SGA Pulse (member management system) and ADP (payroll and recruitment system).

7.    Assists HR Team in planning and preparing for staff events.

8.    Responds to inquiries to include verification of employment.

9.    Cross trains with Executive Assistant on some administrative tasks to act as back-up when needed.

10.  Prepares and maintains reports necessary to carry out the Human Resources department's functions. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.

11.  Opportunity to learn finance operations and cross-train in our areas of Finance.

12.  Works closely with Finance staff to ensure that computer and software systems provide accurate information and adequate internal controls.

 

Recruiter:

1.    Works with department heads to determine current needs for volunteers and internships to develop strategies for recruitment and placement.  Assign volunteers to departments and assist in coordinating schedules.

2.    Recruits diverse volunteer pools across multiple dimensions of diversity. Screens volunteers and forwards copies of applications to appropriate supervisors.

3.    Creates and implements an onboarding and orientation for volunteers and interns.  Onboards and develops volunteers/interns for success.  Includes internal communication to staff regarding volunteers so everyone can help welcome, and volunteer feels included.

4.    Works with marketing to highlight opportunities.  Once volunteers are placed- work to highlight and help immerse volunteers into our community.

5.    Identifies and builds relationships with internal and/or external partners or key stakeholders (e.g., local high schools and colleges and community organizations) to support programs or projects. Makes presentations to outside groups regarding the benefits of volunteering at the YMCA.

6.    Attends career and internship fairs at local colleges, high schools and community organizations/events when necessary.  Hosts WSY career fairs bi-annually or when needed.

7.    Maintains quarterly Togetherhood opportunities for members.  Finds the opportunity, organizes the details, recruits' volunteers for the event and executes the event. 

Required Certifications

CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment.
