Abby Farris Rogers
Abby leads Y-USA’s growth and external engagement team, which includes the financial development, government relations and policy, and marketing and communications departments. Collectively, the team is focused on growing the resources, relationships and partnerships needed to advance and expand the work and influence of the Y. As the Chief Development Officer, Abby is directly responsible for leading Y-USA’s philanthropic and strategic partnership development activities, including corporate, foundation and government funding, and is responsible for driving efforts to enhance the fundraising capacity of YMCAs.
She came to Y-USA after serving two years as president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Richmond (Virginia). She previously was the Richmond Y’s executive vice president and chief advancement officer for eight years and was responsible for ensuring strategic coordination of community partnerships, fundraising and volunteerism in support of the Y’s mission and 10-year strategic plan.
Prior to joining the Y’s professional ranks, Abby served on the YMCA of Greater Richmond Board of Directors from 2004 to 2012, including terms on the Executive Committee and as Chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee. For more than a decade, Abby was the owner of a consulting firm specializing in business development and client management for political, corporate and nonprofit organizations.
