Located on 360-acres of green, lush property minutes from downtown Fort Worth; YMCA Camp Carter serves thousands of children, families, and adults year-round through summer day and overnight camp, outdoor education, retreats, family and corporate events, and equestrian activities.
The Senior Camp Program and Sales Director leads both the development and implementation of Camp Carter’s high-quality programs. The Director’s primary roles are as follows:
Outdoor Education Leader—Oversees the development and implementation of comprehensive outdoor education programs.
Summer Camp Innovator—Orchestrates the summer camp experiences, encompassing both day camp and one-week overnight programs.
Community and Growth Strategist—Expands the reach and impact of the outdoor education and summer camp programs.
This is a year-round, exempt position requiring some evening and weekend availability. It is preferred that the Senior Camp Program and Sales Director lives onsite at beautiful Camp Carter. Housing--including utilities, property taxes, and some upkeep is provided.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, outdoor education, environmental sciences, or other related fields; or equivalent work experience
Experience, Background & Soft Skills

- Innovator, or, a willingness to implement and execute out-of-the-box ideas.
- Commitment to child safety and protection.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in the development and delivery of programs and activities for outdoor education, summer camp, and/or retreat programs.
- Willingness to perform community outreach and drive activity sales.
- Embrace and promote a culture of philanthropy to ensure fundraising goals are met.
- Willing to be a community champion by reaching out to outside entities for program expansion and partnerships.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as a team member with Camp leadership staff.
- Ability to multitask--is self-motivated and dedicated to Camp Carter's success.
- Instructional certifications in programming such as challenge course facilitation, lifeguarding/water sports, or shooting sports (archery, riflery); or the willingness to obtain such certifications is a plus.
- Camp Carter is an Outdoor Adventure Camp, but the ability to lead an Arts & Crafts Camp, Sports Camp, Music Camp, or a Science Camp, etc. is a plus.
- Spanish fluency is a plus.
- Develop and oversee Educational Programs: Design and implement educational and recreational programs for outdoor education and summer camps that align with YMCA values and objectives.
- Manage Program Operations: Ensure smooth operations of all camp sessions and outdoor activities, overseeing logistics, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Recruit and Train Staff: Hire, train, and manage camp counselors, educators, and support staff, providing ongoing professional development and performance feedback.
- Enhance Camper Experience: Continuously improve the camp experience by developing engaging activities and ensuring high standards of safety and fun.
- Build Community Partnership: Establish and maintain relationships with local schools, community organizations, and other potential partners to support and enhance program offerings.
- Market and Promote Programs: Lead marketing efforts to increase program visibility and participation, using various platforms and promotional materials.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety: Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and YMCA standards, ensuring all programs are safe for participants.
- Monitor and Evaluate Programs: Regularly assess program effectiveness and participant satisfaction, implementing improvements based on feedback and best practices.
- Develop Budgets and Manage Finances: Create and manage budgets for outdoor education and summer camps, ensuring financial sustainability and efficient use of resources.
- Organize Special Events: Plan and execute special events and activities that enhance the educational and recreational value of the programs.
- Foster Donor Relationships: Engage with donors and sponsors to secure funding and support for programs, preparing reports and updates on program impact.
- Lead Community Engagement Initiatives: Coordinate with community leaders and stakeholders to promote educational outreach and community involvement in YMCA programs.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth offers a competitive salary and benefits package for selected candidates. The yearly salary range for this position is $47,000 to $55,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidate's experience.
