YMCA Camp Bishop is on beautiful Lost Lake in Shelton, WA. Camp includes a recently renovated dining hall and cooks cabin, camper cabins, basketball courts, ropes course, archery field, canoes, paddle boards, water toys (including an obstacle course), volleyball, fire pit, lodge, STEAM Yurt, and of course, a ton of fun!
Serve as lead health and safety staff person for small overnight camp.
WA State License or Certificate for LPN, RN, Paramedic, or higher-level medical practitioner.
• Attend to illnesses or injuries of both campers and staff per written protocols.
• Administer both over-the-counter and prescribed medications to campers and staff per written protocol at designated times.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medication administration as well as illness and injury care delivered to campers and staff per written protocols.
• Communicate with parents before, during, and after camp in regards to health needs or incidents during camp session.
• Report illness, injury or abuse to proper authorities when necessary per written protocol
• Maintain a watchful presence to the overall wellness of campers and staff.
• Work directly with the EMS, fire department and hospital either by phone or in person when such a need may arise to attend to the illness or injury of a camper or staff.
• Live onsite and attend to camper illness and injury as the on-duty nurse. May need to provide overnight camper supervision, as deemed medically necessary.
• Attend supervisory staff meetings and other camp meetings and functions when assigned to do so by the Summer Camp Coordinator.
• Model and support campers in following Washington State COVID-19 guidelines including, mask-wearing, social distancing, and good handwashing procedures.
• Assist Senior Program Staff with establishing COVID-19 Safety Plan.
• Complete all required online and in-person training.
• Follow all YMCA of Grays Harbor staff policies and guidelines.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the infirmary.
