Job Description

This critical role is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and supervising an age and developmentally appropriate curriculum for the children and families we serve in programs delivered across the association, with a primary focus on the outlying branch sites. After school programming and ECE programs. 29 licensed sites with over 1500 students enrolled. 

Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age or older. 

Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development or related field.

Minimum two years of experience managing multiple youth development programs and working directly with youth in organized before/after school care, out-of-school-time, and summer camp settings preferred.

Proven experience meeting registration and attendance goals.

Experience working with budgets, fiscal management of programs, and fundraising.

Excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and problem-solving strategies.

Demonstrated leadership experiences in supervision, community collaboration and innovation.

Ability to adequately observe program activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures.

Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.

Knowledge and experience working with state Childcare licensing.

CPR & First Aid Instructor Certified (training can be provided).

Essential Functions

Lead area Childcare Directors, Program Directors and other staff by providing leadership and support through strategic program delivery and curriculum building, quality, and safety standards.
Collaborate with Directors and site leadership to ensure excellence and consistency in service.
Champion program curriculums, development of staff, and set annual standards that achieve programmatic outcomes that are reviewed and verified through audits, surveys, and on-site visits.
Relationship building and communication of information to parents, community partners, and school administrators.
Ensure that payroll and personnel information is accurate and submitted on a timely basis.
Participation in the Y annual campaign, fundraising and other special events.
Maintenance of program environments which are safe, healthy, and engaging.
Positioning of the YMCA in the community as a resource and asset.
Recruit, supervise, hire, and provide coaching and development to the staff within the assigned departments; keep personnel files maintained to meet state and YMCA criteria.
Develop and maintains childcare programs’ budget.
Must be willing and able to travel between sites and administrative offices on a regular basis. 
Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and grant requirements.
Apply basic youth development principles through communication, relationship development, and respect for diversity, engagement, and empowerment of youth.
Ensure effective verbal and written communication between all staff and colleagues.
Maintain an environment supporting revenue generation to advance mission, vision, and programs, while managing expenses to ensure expected net is achieved. 
Foster a strong relationship with the school districts served and ensure high quality programming.
Assist in the marketing and distribution of Before & After School, Summer Day Camp, Play Days and Snow Day programming.
Ability to work with people of all ages in both formal and informal settings, must possess a solution-oriented perspective and be flexible and creative, working in an educational setting with a positive, nurturing attitude.
Dedicated to the Ozarks Regional YMCA and be deliberate in reaching outlined goals.
Meet reporting deadlines and all other duties as assigned.
