Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Gymnastics Director to lead and grow our gymnastics program. The ideal candidate will have a strong vision for program development with a primary focus on expanding our recreational classes and lessons while creating a clear pathway to our competitive team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on youth development in our community while building a sustainable gymnastics program.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 3+  years of program administration, management and supervisory experience
  • 3+ years teaching progressive gymnastic programs
  • 3+ years teaching/coaching competitive gymnastics, Levels 3 – 6 or higher
  • CPR and First Aid and Safe Sport Certification
  • USAG Safety Certification and USAG Professional Member
  • Experience developing and growing recreational gymnastics programs
  • Knowledge of progressive gymnastics curriculum development
Essential Functions

Program Development & Management

  • Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive gymnastics curriculum for participants of all ages and skill levels
  • Develop and grow our recreational gymnastics lessons program with clear progression pathways
  • Create and maintain a structured feeder system from beginner classes into our competitive team
  • Establish program goals, objectives, and standards aligned with YMCA values and USA Gymnastics guidelines
  • Monitor program quality and participant satisfaction through regular evaluations
  • Manage program scheduling, registration processes, and participant communications
  • Identify opportunities for program expansion and new offerings

Staff Leadership

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate gymnastics instructors and coaching staff
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development sessions
  • Create and maintain a positive, collaborative team environment
  • Ensure all staff maintain required certifications and adhere to safety protocols

Competitive Team Coaching

  • Oversee competitive team training and competition schedules
  • Provide technical expertise and coaching for competitive gymnasts
  • Coordinate meet registrations and travel arrangements
  • Maintain relationships with USA Gymnastics and other competitive gymnastics organizations

Preferred USAG certifications: U100 Fundamentals of Gymnastic Instructor, U101 Safety and Risk Management, U110 Safe Sport, W200 Development coaches course; Hands on Training.  

CPR/AED and First Aid 

Will be required to pass a background check and complete necessary YMCA training modules.
