Position Summary:  

Directs the oversight, development, and operation of youth & teen programs in assigned location(s) while meeting the needs of our diverse community. This includes supporting the advancement of camp programs, break camps, and non-school day unlicensed "camps" through oversight and collaboration at the branch level. Fulfill responsibilities of all assigned programs while working in program ratio as needed. Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive atmosphere that promotes participant safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies, practices, and procedures. This position provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring of staff and volunteers to ensure attainment of quality, safety, and financial goals. The Youth/Teen Program Director is the face of our youth and teen programs and interacts with members on a daily basis, which requires exceptional interpersonal skills. 

Qualifications

-Minimum Age: 21 

-One or more year’s related experience as a coordinator or supervisor of youth programs 

-Pre-employment current driver abstract required (available online through Dept. of licensing) 

-Minimum two years driving experience with clean driving record  

-Experience working with youth/teens and their parents 

-Experience with staff and volunteer supervision and development 

-Expertise in youth development field 

-Plan, organize, and implement high quality developmentally appropriate programming 

-Strong professional written and verbal communication skills 

-Fluency in second language desired

Essential Functions

-Manage, direct, and coordinate youth programs for assigned location(s), including Teen Programs, Youth Development Center, Teen Late Night, Co-lead Hoops program, non-school day & break camps, Outdoor & Challenger camps, and Counselors in Training Program (CIT). 

-Provides leadership and direction to the budget and day-to-day fiscal operations of assigned programs and departments.  

-Oversee day-to-day operations, including schedules, buses, check-in/out, parent communication, weekly emails, reports, and rosters. 

-Plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities to ensure high-quality programs and establish new program activities. 

-Drive safely according to YMCA policies, procedures, and state laws, ensuring occupants, belongings, and YMCA vehicle contents are secured. 

-Perform and record all checklist and maintenance responsibilities using approved forms, including self-audits to ensure compliance with YMCA of Snohomish County safety requirements. 

-Ensure first aid, safety, and emergency supplies are fully stocked, with documentation of inventory and immediate replacement of missing supplies. 

-Ensure that bus rules are posted, announced, and followed. 

-Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and direct personnel and volunteers as needed. 

-Review and evaluate staff performance, developing strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. 

-Expand programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. 

-Actively participate in assigned Advancement Teams and help lead and develop trainings for staff. 

-Develop, monitor, and adhere to budgets for designated program areas. 

-Coordinate program information and registration procedures. 

-Coordinate program growth through marketing and promotional materials. 

-Participate and support annual fundraising efforts and special events. 

-Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations. 

-Oversee the development and operation of youth & teen programs, including camp programs, break camps, and non-school day unlicensed "camps." 

-Collaborate with branch staff to ensure effective oversight and support for all camp-related activities. 

-Work in program ratio as needed to fulfill responsibilities of all assigned programs. 

-Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive atmosphere that promotes participant safety and engagement. 

-Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to staff and volunteers. 

-Ensure attainment of quality, safety, and financial goals. 

-Interact with members daily, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills. 

-Perform other duties as assigned.

The full range of the pay grade for this position is $77,979-$93,600.
