Located in a wooded area on Lake Manchaug in Sutton, MA with cabins for indoor activities, field and small lakefront beach. 

Job Description

Under the direction of the Camp Blanchard Director, the Waterfront Director is responsible for the development & scheduling of swim programs/waterfront activities and supervising & supporting the waterfront staff.

Camp runs seasonally from mid June to mid August with training dates before camp start to be determined.

Shifts: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm June 23rd 2025 - August 22, 2025

**Pre-Camp training and Post-Camp preparation is required--dates TBD

** All Staff Camp Training is on Saturday, June 7th at a location to be determined.

Pay: $21.00/hour. Plus access to facilities for all YMCA employees and Employee Assistance Program

Qualifications
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Must be currently certified in Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescue
  • At least 2 years in lifeguarding experience, preferably in waterfront.
  • WSI certification and supervising experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization, problem solving, communication skills and the ability to work with children, families and staff
Essential Functions
  • Plan & implement daily swim lessons and supervise free swimming.
  • Ensure the safety of all campers and staff when supervising the waterfront areas.
  • Alert Camp Director of any dangerous situations immediately and be able to provide life saving care when needed.
  • Prepare, maintain and breakdown beach/swim areas daily.
  • Supervise boating programs and develop progressing swim programs for all abilities.
  • Maintain equipment & property and complete reports as necessary. 
  • Attend all staff trainings, meetings, & family nights.
  • Assist the camp director with other activities as needed. 
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Certifications
