YMCA Camp Potawotami has provided friendship, fun, and a character-building camping experience in a beautiful, safe environment for over 100 years. Located about 40 miles north of Fort Wayne on the shores of Blackman Lake, Camp Potawotami has over 210 acres of woodlands, meadows, wetlands, and hiking trails.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have previous leadership and/or staff supervision experience.
- Must have experience working with youth in a camp or outdoor setting.
- Customer Service experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
- Excellent human relation skills and enthusiasm.
- Basic math skills and demonstrated recordkeeping proficiency.
- An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
- Successfully complete within 60 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/O2 Certification, Bloodborne Pathogen training, Child Abuse Prevention training, and all other required training as specified by your supervisor.

Ensure that each camper has the social, emotional, and physical resources to have an equitable summer camp experience.

Organize & distribute necessary camper information to ensure success of both cabin leaders and campers.

Dietary needs to Food Service Director

Medical and Behavior Needs to the Program Director and authorized staff.

Assign Cabin Assignments with weekly leaders and co-leaders

Review and approve Parent Cards written by staff to their camper’s parents.

Facilitate biweekly camper surveys, review with the Program Director, and address any issues or concerns with the help of the Head Counselors.

Greet and prepare CITs and Nurses on Check In Day Prep

Facilitate Evening Rounds or Documented Daily Check-ins with the head counselors, at each cabin group to discover and support any camper or staff issues.

Ensure that afternoon and evening snack are ready and served on time with dietary restrictions are met.
Liaison with International Staff.
