Camp Greenville is an overnight camp established in 1912 that hosts boys and girls from throughout the region and the world for summer camps, retreats and specialty camps. You will get to experience what the great outdoors of Western North Carolina and South Carolina have to offer.

This Assistant Property Manager supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direction of Property Director, this position will provide leadership, support, and assistance for maintenance and facility management functions.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree or Trade certification or equivalent work experience in a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of building management and maintenance experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) years of management/supervisory experience.
  • A character that demonstrates maturity, responsibility, and sound judgment decisions.
  • A self-starter who possesses the ability to make sound judgments.
  • The ability to work a flexible work schedule and respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • The ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently and bring all projects/assignments to closure within expected timeframes.
  • A commitment to and knowledge of YMCA philosophy and mission.
  • The understanding of all state, local and federal safety regulations and requirements (DHEC, OSHA, etc.).
  • Demonstrated sound management skills related to facility management, leadership, communication, training, supervision of staff, and problem-solving.
  • Must complete mandatory YMCA trainings, BBP/Child Abuse Prevention/CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days of employment.
Essential Functions
  • Achieves tasks, duties, and responsibilities assigned to this position in the areas of facility maintenance, landscaping, housekeeping, equipment repair, and pretty place operations.
  • Assist with planning and implementing a preventive maintenance program, including the management and administration of related contracted services.
  • Assists with assignment, implementation, and completion of work orders through the assigned management system.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and supervision to assigned seasonal personnel.
  • Coordinates the training of all assigned maintenance staff.
  • Assists with various personnel actions like hiring, scheduling, evaluations, appraisals for assigned seasonal staff.
  • Works with the Property Director to ensure optimal financial performance of the assigned Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure that assigned locations adhere to all state, local and Y health and safety regulations.
  • Plan and conduct meetings with staff to ensure compliance with established practices, to implement new policies, and to keep employees abreast of changes and standards.
  • Exemplifies YMCA character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • Assists in all areas of the Y operation as requested by management.

  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
  • Attend/complete required abuse risk management training
  • Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
    • Maintenance Employees-ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitor high-risk locations (locker-rooms and bathrooms), etc.
  • Follow employees and volunteers’ screening requirements and use screening instruments to screen for abuse risk.
  • Provide employees and volunteers with ongoing supervision and training related to abuse risk.
  • Provide employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with consumers.
  • Require employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse risk.
  • Respond quickly to policy and procedure violations using the organization’s progressive disciplinary procedures.
  • Respond seriously and confidentially to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behavior.
