SITE DIRECTORS at the YMCA of Greater Cleveland are responsible for the effective and efficient operation of assigned childcare sites. They administer, manage, and actively participate in licensed programs, including creating and implementing lesson plans, maintaining site records, and ensuring state licensure compliance. Site Directors foster a welcoming and collaborative environment for their teams while developing lasting relationships in the community.

You might be required to travel between sites for assigned duties, trainings, or meetings.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess education and/or certification to meet OCCRRA requirements for CPL 3.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with all ODJFS licensing procedures and Step Up to Quality requirements preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year experience supervising staff, especially in a childcare setting.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with school age or preschool children in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or school age environment.
  • Experience planning, creating, and implementing lesson plans.
  • Able to administer the program, fiscal, and personnel policies of the association.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations.
  • All YMCA employees are mandated reporters for signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect.
Essential Functions

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all licensing requirements are followed and the site is maintained in accordance with ODJFS day care licensing standards.
  • Direct supervision of Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers, including performance evaluation, training recommendations, and corrective action.
  • Actively recruit families and children as program participants.
  • Design and implement learning opportunities and age-appropriate objectives.
  • Maintain site records and detailed filing system. Develop and submit regular reports.
  • Create an inclusive, welcoming, respectful environment for children, families, and staff.
  • Work with the Human Resources team to recruit your staff.
Required Certifications
