Are you seeking a rewarding opportunity to work directly with youth sharing your interests in gymnastics, dance, or cheer?  Are you seeking a fun and engaging part-time job on a collaborative team?   This may be the opportunity for you! 

As a Gymnastics Instructor, you will help provide a safe, fun, and progressive gymnastics experience to program participants from beginners' introductory classes for our youngest early childhood participants to school-age and youth participants interested in fine-tuning skills.  Regularly, you will monitor open gymnastics sessions to ensure safe activities, support the setup and take down of equipment, assist with curriculum-based classes, and build authentic relationships improving participant and member satisfaction. Additionally, you will motivate and inspire youth to learn new skills. You will lead programs for children providing high-quality instruction through thoughtful demonstration and practice. 

To thrive in this position you have experience working with you in an instructional setting or previous personal experience related to gymnastics, dance, or cheer that inspires your interest in the sport. You can physically demonstrate skills appropriate to the taught levels and communicate effectively to participants through redirection or positive guidance.

Qualifications
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • No experience necessary, we'll train you!
  • We have shifts on Monday from 8am to 12pm & 12p to 4pm, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8am to 9:45am and on Saturdays from 8am to 11am.  

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Must be able to see and hear an emergency
  • Ability to lift equipment and maneuver equipment and weight up to 55 lbs or that of a small to average size child
  • Must be able to navigate the uneven surfaces on the gym floor

Essential Functions

Program Leadership & Development:

  • Direct and supervise gymnastics activities to achieve YMCA objectives.

  • Plan and implement gymnastics events and activities, while assisting in marketing and managing registrations.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop staff and volunteers.

  • Evaluate performance and create motivational strategies to achieve program goals.

Community Engagement:

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.

  • Communicate effectively with YMCA members, program participants, and families, addressing inquiries and issues promptly.

Budget & Facilities Management:

  • Monitor program budget to meet fiscal objectives.

  • Ensure facility cleanliness, maintenance, and security for all program areas.

Program Evaluation:

  • Compile and analyze program statistics to evaluate effectiveness.

  • Implement improvements to enhance program success.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • All other duties as assigned.
