Job Description

The Tampa YMCA is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to helm our specialty programs in sunny Tampa, Florida! Early focus on existing specialty programs will include competetive and recreational gymnastics featuring our 12,000+ square foot, state-of-the-art facility, fully equipped and ready for the next chapter of growth under your leadership.  Join us in shaping the future of our specialty program offerings, currently serving 300+ children and their families, including our Top Flight Gymnastics competitive team featuring athletes competing up to Level 8 and Excel Diamond.

As Senior Program Director, you will have direct responsibility over all existing specialty programs, including gymnastics, cheer, and dance operations at your assigned center while leading the Association’s Gymnastics, Dance, Martial Arts and Cheer service delivery team in streamlining all programming to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with our mission.

In this role, you’ll play a key role in advancing the YMCA’s mission of strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Gymnastics and/or dance background, preferred.
  • Proven experience leading similar sized programs in a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in programs, philosophies and objectives, preferred.
  • Experience in managing budgets and program revenue.
  • Strong communicator, ensuring that program participants are well-informed of important program information in a timely manner.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, communication, organization, and the ability to work within specific time constraints.
  • Maintain other required certifications as stated in the training matrix.
Essential Functions

Critical areas of expertise include: leading others and working in teams, ability to develop and execute new programs (i.e., Cheer and Dance), highly organized multi-program/site management, delivery and management of robust quality-focused programs, program growth, successful oversight of part-time and full-time teams, and interviewing, hiring and successfully onboarding new associates.  Comfortable speaking to groups and engaging communities to promote programs.

Required Certifications
  • Must obtain within 30 days of employment and then maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen Administration.
