We are looking for talented individuals to join our team of dedicated, energetic, creative and caring Early Childhood Professionals.

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, assists the classroom teacher in setting up and implementing daily curriculum which promotes social, cultural, educational, physical and emotional growth. Performs housekeeping chores as necessary. Provides a quality experience to children that focuses on the YMCA values.

Schedule: 40 hours weekly position. Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:30pm.

Pay: $20.00/hour with full benefit package to include, generous PTO, access to facilities, Medical, Dental, Disability, Life, Vision, & Pet Insurance, and ability to participate 403B Retirement Savings Plan. Also, once fully vested, the YMCA will pay into a retirement account for you!

Qualifications
  1. Meets educational and experience qualifications established by DEEC, NAEYC, and QRIS.
  2. At least 18 years of age.
  3. Must obtain, and keep current, certification in CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention.
  4. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred
Essential Functions
  1. Has knowledge of and maintains NAEYC and DEEC standards.
  2. Assists classroom teacher in implementing daily lesson/activity plans to support a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  3. Greets parents and children and interacts with the children. Is aware of children’s safety at all times.
  4. Makes and records observations of children.
  5. Maintains classroom and equipment.
  6. Change and feed children.
  7. Supervise outdoor play, handwashing, toileting.
  8. Is flexible to schedule changes.
  9. Attends and participates in family nights, staff meetings, staff training, and YMCA special events.
  10. Additional duties as required and assigned by a supervisor to support the overall mission of the YMCA and to ensure the success of the Child Care Department.
