Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA child care program(s). 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

One to two years of childcare experience preferred, as a supervisor of child care programs.

Certifications in CPR and First Aid within the first 90 days.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse people groups from all social and economic segments of the community.  

Essential Functions

1. Manages, directs, plans and coordinates the school age child care programs for the Easley YMCA. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities.

2. Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff.

3. Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program, including participation in the DSS Afterschool Snack Program and ADA accommodations where appropriate. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.

4. Provides for upkeep of assigned program sites and equipment and ensures uncompromising levels of cleanliness and safety.

5. Develops and maintains relationships with school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to childcare program. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.

6. Maintains proper records/department files.

7. Actively participates in the YMCA Annual Campaign and supports the branch team in meeting goals.

8. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.

9. Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.

10. Compiles program statistics. Monitors, evaluates and effects change to improve the effectiveness of and participation in programs.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.
